TRACFOR portable pulling and lifting device
TRACFOR Portable Pulling and Loading Device
Hand-operated arrangement with unlimited wire length to lift loads at any height and pull them from any distance.

To manually lift the heaviest load
at any height and pull it from any distance.
Operation
The Tracfor device has an upper jaw-block and a lower jaw-block. These jaws have a channel that fits the diameter of the wire rope to hold it. The union of the upper and lower jaws is achieved by means of pairs of connecting rods, so that the movement of the wire through the jaws determines their closing on it.
The principle can be described as the reciprocating movement of hands, similar to a sailor pulling a rope. The gripping pressure of the jaws is such that if we test one device applying a greater load on it, the wire would be broken before any movement from it occurs through the device. The greater the load, the stronger the grip.
The initial clamping is effected by means of springs. The two jaw-blocks are linked by control rods. Actuation of forward or backward levers determines a reciprocate movement of the jaw-blocks, which in turn, causes the wire to go forward or backward.
The device is provided with a disengagement handle, when it is pulled open, it compresses the springs and simultaneously opens the two jaw-blocks for the wire rope to pass freely through the device. This lever cannot be actuated when the device is loaded, since it will be necessary to apply a sufficient effort to counteract the strain of the springs plus the weight of the load being lifted or pulled.
Its potential can be easily multiply by pulleys.
